Buckle up and secure your tray tables. As soon as the cabin door closes, your Wisconsin vacation begins. Featuring two major airports and several regional ones, flying into Wisconsin is easy, and it’s only the beginning of your first-class family vacation, romantic getaway or friends reunion.
Near Milwaukee & Other Destinations
Wisconsin's busiest airport, the Mitchell International Airport (MKE), is the airport you want to fly into if your family reunion, or whatever brings you here, is in Milwaukee or another popular nearby destination, like Lake Geneva. All major airlines fly through here, including the low-cost carrier Spirit, with nonstop flights included.
Although Madison is just a little more than an hour-long drive from MKE, the state capital also features its own airport, the Dane County Regional Airport. Five major airlines land here, from Delta to American. Direct flights are available from cities, including but not limited to Minneapolis, Miami and Las Vegas.
Packers Country
The Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport is the gateway to Packers country.
In the heart of Green Bay, you’re only a short car ride from Wisconsin landmarks, like Lambeau Field, where the Packers play. It's also the airport to fly into if you plan on adventuring through the orchards and bays of the Door County peninsula. Fly into the airport on Delta or Frontier, to name a few, from cities like Chicago and Detroit.
While this airport is a short car ride to cities surrounding Lake Winnebago, like Appleton and Oshkosh, if any of those are your destinations, fly into the Appleton International Airport, served by major airlines, like United and American.
Along the Mississippi River
To access some of our state’s most gorgeous western regions, like the Driftless region and parts of the Up North region, fly into the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) in Minnesota situated across the Mississippi River.
Though a Delta hub, MSP is served by all major airlines, including Alaska, as well as many low-cost carriers. A quick drive east from the airport on Interstate Highway 94, and you’re in Wisconsin near destinations like Hudson, Eau Claire and Menomonie.
If you’re visiting Eau Claire and the surrounding area, fly into the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, served by United. While waiting for your flight, check out pieces from local artists displayed throughout the terminal. And if your travels take you a little farther south to La Crosse, along the Mississippi River, fly into the La Crosse Regional Airport served by Delta and American.
